Carol Franck was a long-time leader in Michigan's nursing community, serving as a tireless advocate for Michigan nurses.
To honor her memory as a faculty member of the Michigan State University College of Nursing and leadership in the Michigan Nurses Association and to recognize her passion for a strong nurse-led leadership in public policy, the College is soliciting nominations for the 2014 Carol E. Franck Nursing Leadership Award.
The recipient will receive a $1,000 monetary award to recognize his or her accomplishments in advocacy for Michigan's nursing profession.
The leadership award recognizes an individual who has served as an advocate for nursing around four critical areas:
Nursing as a significant providers of cost-effective care
Support for a critical nursing initiative in the workplace
Addressing a significant community health care need
Advocacy for nursing, nurses, or health care to policy makers
The nomination form and details are available below and are due 5 pm August 20, 2014 and will be presented at the MSU College of Nursing Scholarship and Awards dinner on Friday, September 26, 2014.
