We're pleased to share that Rick Boothman, JD, will speak at the 2023 Michigan Nursing Summit, which will be held in Grand Rapids on October 12-13, 2023. Her session will be titled "Patients Don't Choose to be Harmed; We Choose How to Respond (and the choice we make matters)".
For twenty years as a trial lawyer defending professional liability cases, Rick Boothman witnessed first-hand the enormous toll litigation-centric responses exacted on patients, healthcare professionals, and health systems alike. Now, Rick is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Michigan School of Medicine and is a visiting scholar with the Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has served on numerous boards including the National Patient Safety Foundation, the Michigan Health and Hospital Association's Keystone Center for Patient Safety Foundation, and Gift of Life-Michigan.
